The District 202 Board of Education has been recognized by the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) for its exceptional governance practices.
District 202’s Board was one of less than 50 Illinois school districts to earn the School Board Governance Recognition honor for its effective governance behaviors and commitment to obtaining the knowledge and skills necessary to lead the district effectively.
IASB’s School Board Governance Recognition program acknowledges local boards of education that practice good governance behaviors, as outlined in the IASB's Foundational Principles of Effective Governance.
The focus of Governance Recognition is on full board development and participation.
Boards that meet the requirements are recognized for the two-year honorary distinction.
“The members of our Board of Education have shown their commitment to the District, the students, and the entire community by continually improving their leadership skills and knowledge,” said District 202 Superintendent Dr. Glenn Wood.
“Their work does not stop at Board meetings. They study the issues, advocate on behalf of District 202, and learn the intricacies of school finance. In addition, the important, long-range work around our Strategic Plan has demonstrated how the board engages with the community on issues of importance.”
The District 202 Board of Education members are:
